Scientific findings in homosexuality
Scientists in the USA now claim that homosexual desires are determined by biological and genetic factors. If this is so, is marriage – nikkah – and fixed-term – mut’a – considered permissible – halal – between such individuals of the same gender.
Irrespective of how people try to find scientific justification for homosexuality being determined by genetic and biological factors, nikkah and mut’a between people of the same gender is, and remains, haram. This is not something that can ever be altered by scientific evidence of any sort because marriage, in all Divine religions, throughout the epoch of all of Allah’s messengers, took place only between members of the opposite sex. If the justification of scientists in such matters were to be considered acceptable, all criminals would also have to be declared innocent on the grounds that, in scientific opinion, crime is the result of biological and genetic factors.
